Sale leasebacks across the U.S. totaled $14.4 billion last year, up 19% from 2024, according to SLB Capital Advisors
“After the market digested tariff-related headlines earlier in the year and [mergers-and-acquisitions] activity regained momentum … we saw a corresponding increase in sale leaseback transactions,” SLB Managing Partner Scott Merkle says in a note.
A significant number of sale leasebacks last year also involved companies that sold real estate as an alternative to traditional sources of capital, Merkle adds.
